When I asked Dalton, if she would be wearing a veil on her wedding day, she said “No, I’ll be wearing Ellie.” This babywearing bride looked ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! The colors were perfect and I love how wearing Ellie in the wrap incorporated her into the wedding day in an unique and meaningful way. The weather on Saturday was perfect. Not too hot. Not too cold. Just perfect. There was so much tangible joy when I walked into the room to take Dalton’s getting ready photos. The big day was finally here! And the moment Jimmy Joe saw his bride coming down the aisle was priceless. I’m so glad Matthew caught it!
It was such a blessing getting to know this sweet family better during their engagement session and I’m so proud to say that Dalton and I were friends even before she asked us to shoot their wedding. Our children are 1 month apart in age exactly and I was excited to capture a friend’s wedding day. The Nuptial Mass was beautiful! Dalton wore Ellie down the aisle and nursed her to sleep during the readings. And then Ellie slept through the WHOLE Mass! As a fellow mother of an active toddler, this is a HUGE win! Dalton told me after that she was SO grateful that Ellie slept the whole time because she was able to focus and really pray through the Mass. As you’ll see from the pictures below, Dalton held her in her arms, asleep, as Jimmy Joe and she said their vows to one another. It was picture perfect!
The rest of the day was equally as beautiful. We took photos outside the church and then went to the Old Golf Course, behind Franciscan University, to take some more photos. We then went to the reception venue, Bella Hall. The decorations were so colorful and fun! The variety of colors really added to the joy and celebration of the day. All in all, it was an amazing day and an incredible experience to witness and photograph the marriage of friends. I will always remember this wedding fondly, as Dalton was our first #fireandgoldbride!
