Mexican War Streets Engagement Session | Katie + Thomas

Katie and Thomas’  downtown Pittsburgh engagement session was the perfect way to kick off our spring 2021 engagement sessions. Warm sunshine filled the air, bouncing off the colorful homes along the Mexican War Streets in downtown Pittsburgh.  We were so excited to finally meet this sweet couple in person.  We had chatted with them over a video call in December and we knew instantly that they were going to be such a dream to work with.  We are beyond excited for their Memorial Day Weekend wedding this May!

Their love story is such a sweet one: their families had gotten to know each other for a few years while they were in college. Katie went to school in Ohio while Thomas attended a university in North Carolina. Thomas’ mom introduced them and they hit it off as friends. Their relationship really took off thanks to Covid…..they were sent home over spring break last year and had to continue classes online.  God made some beautiful lemonade out of the lemon of quarantine and He drew these two together in love. They began to date and many of those dates consisted of walks in parks or hiking (since that’s all that was open at the time!)

Now they are preparing for the sacrament of matrimony and you can really tell how they were just made for each other.  The tender smile of Thomas as he gazes at Katie and then makes her laugh….the way Katie’s face just lights up when she’s with him. Their ease at just being together; they were made to journey to heaven together.

It was such a joy to get to know them during their engagement session this past weekend.  We started their session along the colorful Mexican War Streets and ended it at Frick Park.  These two locations are so different and offer their own unique character.  It gave such great variety to their session and we couldn’t have had more perfect weather for a mid-March session!

Enjoy scrolling through this engagement session and stay tuned for their beautiful wedding later this spring!

xoxo,
Laura
